Ariccia, Italy - If you have some free time, we recommend going to Ariccia, about 45 minutes from Rome. It is a beautiful small town that is well known for their pork roast, cheese and wine however there are plenty of vegetarian plates available as well!
Our favourite place to eat is called L’Aricciarola Osteria, Via Borgo San Rocco 9. There are no menus for the antipasti (appetizers) so don’t sit there waiting for them! What you have to do is go to the banco (counter) and tell them what you want and how much of it. There are vegetables, cheeses, sausages and meats to choose from. They you carry your tray back to your table and indulge! Make sure to order some of their famous red wine as well.
If you’re not full from just the antipasti, you can ask for a menu and order a primo (first plate) usually some type of pasta. And finally don’t forget to get some desert!
